Jerusalem Archaeological Park

  • Neil Armstrong traveled to Jersualem and visited the Southern Temple Wall excavations. While he stood on the steps he said, "It is more meaningful for me to walk here, than on the moon." SO COOL!

  • Robinsons Arch, Western wall, Triple Gate entrance, Double gate entrance/ exit, Pinnacle (where trumpets would have been sounded/ where Jesus was tempted by the devil to jump off and have angels save him.
  • Matthew 24 Lord prophesied that, "There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shlal not be thrown down," talking about the stones of the Temple. Prophecy has been fulfilled.
  • John 9 where Jesus exits the Temple and walks down the stairs (that we are standing on!) and finds a blind man. He applies mud to the blind mans eyes and tells him to go wash in the Pool of Siloam (right near the temple).

Some photos I got from Lani! Checkk her out. She's a babe. Major babe. Serious babe. laniliv.blogspot.com

  1. I lost my iphone in Galilee.
  2. My camera broke before Jordan.
  3. I have no more available space on my computer.
  4. I deleted half my photos on my iphoto trying to put them on the external hard drive.
  5. I took out my laundry last night and all my whites are now brown/ pink somehow.
  6. I have a huge calling card bill.
  7. Need. Help.
Yes, I am "technologically challenged" in the words of Keith Read. I used to consider myself a responsible person. Thank goodness I am in Jerusalem right now.

The day is cold, and dark, and dreary

It rains, and the wind is never weary;

The vine still clings to the mouldering wall,

But at every gust the dead leaves fall,

And the day is dark and dreary.

My life is cold, and dark, and dreary;

It rains, and the wind is never weary;

My thoughts still cling to the mouldering Past,

But the hopes of youth fall thick in the blast,

And the days are dark and dreary.

Be still, sad heart! and cease repining;

Behind the clouds is the sun still shining;

Thy fate is the common fate of all,

Into each life some rain must fall,

Some days must be dark and dreary.

-Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

The Fellowship of the Unashamed

"I’m part of the fellowship of the unashamed. The die has been cast. I have stepped over the line. The decision has been made. I’m a disciple of His. I won’t look back, let up, slow down, back away or be still.

My past is redeemed, my present makes sense, my future is secure. I’m finished and done with low living, sight walking, small planning, smooth knees, colorless dreams, tamed visions, mundane talking, cheap living and dwarfed goals.

I no longer need preeminence, prosperity, position, promotion, plaudits, or popularity. I don’t have to be right, first, tops, recognized, praised, regarded, or rewarded. I now live by faith, lean on His presence, walk by patience, lift by prayer, and labor by power.

My face is set, my gait is fast, my goal is heaven, my road is narrow, my way is rough, my companions few, my Guide reliable, my mission clear. I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, turned back, deluded, or delayed. I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of the adversary, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity, or meander in the maze of mediocrity.

I won’t give up, shut up, or let up until I have stayed up, stored up, prayed up, paid up, and preached up for the cause of Christ. I am a disciple of Jesus. I must go till He comes, give till I drop, preach till all know, and work till He stops me. And when He comes for His own, He will have no problem recognizing me…my banner will be clear!”

Shoppppping

Every time we go to the city we go to Shabans. Maybe even twice. Maybe even three times. He feeds Omar, his son, is great too because he runs and gets us delicious pita and gives us juice. I'm pretty sure I've bought most everything in his store too. BYU t-shirts, scripture bags, widow's mite necklaces, scarfs, Armenian pottery, oil, kafias, genie pants, dresses, t-shirts, olive wood, sling shots, camels, posters... really, name anything and Shaban's got it. He calls me Abigail- soo we're pretty tight. He's the man.
Omar!

I have taken shop till you drop to a whole new level here....don't worry fam, it's mostly stuff for you.
