Father Dabbour! Jenny's good family friend (so random!) Father Dabbour is the high priest over all the Greek Orthodox Churches in Jordan...so he came to our hotel and visited with us. Seriously great holy man.

PETRA.

PapapapaPETRA

Brining back Indiana Jones!!!
Petra was the capital city for the Nabateans. The whole entire city was destroyed by an earthquake in the middle of the night and killed thousands- wiping away the civilization/ forcing the people to move. It rained all morning then cleared up a bit while we hiked up to the monestary that was built into the rock. The colors of the rocks are so vivid it was incredible!

The Siq. Elephant- favorite animal- sweet!
Treasury (Tomb of Aretas IV)

Our Bedouin friend Namammam!
Monestary

She took us up to this gorgeous overlook! She pinky promised that we wouldn't have to pay her before hand and so we went up with her- a little skeptical, but as we were coming down she got in trouble by these men working there and we felt bad. We felt bad she was getting yelled at and we debated whether we should give her money or not. We thought it was nice of her to take us up there and that we made a new friend. We decided since she needs the money more than we do that we were going to give to giver her some. Jenny went to give her the money but Nammam wouldn't accept it and said no no I promised you I wouldn't take the money, we shook on it, we're friends. Priceless touching experience.
